Traditionally, people think of doctors and nurses taking blood samples. While doctors and nurses can, and do, take blood, they have become much too busy to do so on a regular and routine basis; this is where the specialization of Phlebotomy enters the field.

THE ROLE OF A PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN TODAY

A Phlebotomy Technician is trained to draw blood from a patient’s body for testing in clinical or medical purposes. Blood analysis plays a very important role as a diagnostic tool for the medical clinicians. Thus, it becomes even more important that blood is collected in the most professional manner. If there is more than one sample to be collected, the tubes for blood collection must be arranged in a strictly specific order. It is the responsibility of the phlebotomist to know the order. They also collect other “Non-Blood” specimen from patients ranging from infants to the Elderly on a fast paced manner, dealing with a high volume of patients.

A Phlebotomy Technician is able to work directly with a Physician, assisting in specimen collection, diagnosis and treatment.

Phlebotomy Technician Program Structure

Our Phlebotomy Technician Program is organized into three major segments designed to provide comprehensive knowledge, practical skills, and real clinical experience.

1. Classroom Instruction – 12 Weeks
The first segment covers all theoretical topics over 12 weeks of live classroom instruction. Classes are held three times per week on our online learning platform, and students have 24/7 access to the platform throughout the program.
At the end of this segment, students will complete a 100-question online examination, requiring a minimum score of 70% to advance.

2. Hands-On Practical Training – 6 Weeks
Students who successfully pass the theory exam will progress to hands-on training at one of our training centers worldwide. This segment lasts six intensive weeks, during which an instructor will teach all required clinical skills.
At the end of the practical training, students must complete a clinical simulation exam to demonstrate competency.

3. Clinical Placement (Practicum) – 200 Hours
The final segment is the clinical practicum, where students are integrated into a partnering healthcare facility’s team. They will perform the duties they have been trained for, completing a minimum of 200 clinical hours.
During this period, students are evaluated by their supervisor, mentor, and department head. Successful completion of this evaluation marks the end of the program.

After completing all three segments, students will receive their certificate of Training, and can partake in International Board Examinations and apply for jobs in various countries.

Graduates also receive job placement assistance, which includes connecting them with facilities we partner with when positions are available.
Please note that we do not guarantee employment, nor do we offer or assign jobs. Our role is to assist and guide students in finding opportunities—not to provide guaranteed job placement.
