SUMMER SCHOOL

2024 Summer School for Teenagers July 23rd to August 24th 2024

School is out, and It’s the long holidays again. It’s a time to relax, play, have some fun, travel and just unwind after a hectic school year. To add some class and purpose to the long holidays, we’ve come up with a terrific curriculum for Teenagers to partake in. It promises to educate, inspire and broaden their horizons, most importantly, it will be a load of fun, sadly, to last for only one month.

We have two packages for this summer school, both exciting and full of fun.

PRE-HEALTH SCIENCE COURSE

This is designed for our future Healthcare Professionals, teenagers interested in studying Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Molecular science and much more. It covers the basic understanding of healthcare courses and teaches them the fundamental of these courses.

Curriculum

DAY 1 23rd: Introduction to health science

DAY 2 25th: Medical Terminology, Medical Ethics and Nutrition

Basic structure of medical terminologies, understanding medical ethics and its importance.

DAY 3 30th: Nutrition and Diseases associated with poor Nutrition

Various nutrients in our foods and their functions in the body. Understanding a balanced diet, diseases associated with poor diet

DAY 4 1st: Overview of human Anatomy & Physiology

Fundamentals of human Anatomy and Physiology

DAY 5 6th: Growth, Development and Sexual Health, Aging

Sexual health & Fertility, emotional, mental, psychological and physical development of various age groups. Changes associated with aging

DAY 6 8th: Safety & Infection Control, Communicable & Non-communicable diseases

Applying standard precautions & preventing illnesses. How common disease are contracted.

Day 7 13th: Preventive medicine, Community health

Building healthy relationships, injury prevention & safety, spotting a predator and protection

Day 8 15th: Mental Health crisis and diseases, Seeking help

Day 9 20th: Introduction to Histology, Genetics, Microbiology and Laboratory studies and how they relate to everyday life.

Day 10 22nd: Free style, Q & A, final quiz

Tuition: 100,000NGN

The fee covers 10-days of classes, a light snack, handouts, and a Certificate of completion which can be used as an admission prerequisite for any healthcare related program. Also, an end of summer school party on the 24th of August.

COMPREHENSIVE ARTS COURSE

This designed to inspire and explore the creative minds, suitable for our future Architects, Authors, scriptwriters, Producers, Musicians, Fashion Designers, Lawyers, Public speakers and many more.

CURRICULUM

DAY 1: Introduction to the interpretive arts

Learn to express their arts, in music, drawing, painting, writing and drama

DAY 2: Professional ethics and exploring your creativity

Learn the fundamentals of the performing arts, amplifying creativity

DAY 3: Music and Vocal Coaching

Learn the importance of musical notes and how they play an important role in our daily lives. Learn to differentiate each note and learn the fundaments of singing and public speaking

DAY 4: Public Speaking

Learn the act of speech writing and the fundamentals of delivery of a speech. Communication and basic interpersonal skills

DAY 5: Visual arts & Pattern Drawing

Learning to create a connection between the sight, the heart and the art. Interpretation of arts and perception

DAY 6: Dance

Learn the fundamentals and the art of dance and body movements.

DAY 7: Playwright & Drama

Learning the act of scriptwriting, playwriting and writing a novel

DAY 8: Content Creation

Learn how to create professional content for social media, the fundamentals, the dos and don’ts

DAY 9: Movie directing & Producing

Every student will learn the fundamentals of movie production and directing, financial implication and investment opportunities.

DAY 10: Free style & Quiz

The fee covers 10-days of classes, a light snack, handouts, and a Certificate of completion which can be used as part of the admission prerequisite for any Arts/ Commerce related program. Also, an end of summer school party on the 24th of August.
